The New ParentPay for Schools
This year sees the arrival of a new ParentPay application for schools.
Following months of customer research, we have developed a simple, task-based user-centric interface for school managers, combined with exciting new features designed to save schools even more time. Many of the features are completely unique to ParentPay.
New User Interface features
Task-based personalisation: School staff can customise their interface, with the key tasks, reports or other activities they use the most. Users can add anything to their task bar, from specific payment items, important financial reports, or communication and message sending options – in just one click.
Search & find: The new dynamic search facility will enable users to easily find anything – type in a pupil name and find payment records, trips they are assigned to, or even their parent details – all just a click away.
Intelligent filtering: New easy to access filters allow users to see exactly what they want on each page. Filter by class, year group, payment type, FSM status and more – with filter choices that adapt to each page and feature, depending what the user is doing.
Exciting new features coming soon
Enhanced user access controls: The new permissions framework launching next term will provide sophisticated access controls to determine what school staff can do. Managers can limit access to specific features, data types or tasks – based on role privileges managed by the school - ensuring more school staff can benefit from using ParentPay.
Scheduled payments: Great for parents but even better for schools. This new feature allows staff to configure automated payment schedules for trips and events – meaning payments can be collected automatically staff without having to chase and remind parents.
Automated payment: Parents can choose to set auto top-up of different accounts based on the account balance or a specific frequency – great for automating dinner money top-ups or regular payments like music lessons.
Single Sign-On: The New ParentPay will support single sign-on and federated ID management integrated with a range of VLEs and other school based parent portals. Parents will be able to easily access their ParentPay account – including activation and login from Facebook and other social networks.
The New ParentPay Integration Framework: Coming soon is a new Partner Integration Framework – a set of open APIs available to any partner to support enhanced, fully automated integration. Create a new payment item, report payments made against a trip, download a settlement statement or import reconciliation data – all these functions and more will be possible meaning ParentPay will work seamlessly with an expanded range of other school systems. Announcements of the launch partners will be made soon.
There’s a lot more included in The New ParentPay for Schools in 2013 – keep watch for the latest updates, or visit us at BETT to find out more.
