online and we’ve seen a 10% increase in the uptake of our free and
paid school meals.”

Payments
ParentPay can accept most major UK debit and credit cards. All transactions
are carried out using the highest security and are compliant with bank and
card scheme requirements.
In order to accept credit and debit cards, you will need to get an internet
merchant account – a facility that allows you to accept card payments. ParentPay
will organise this for you, in co-operation with our bank partner, Lloyds
TSB Cardnet.
This facility doesn’t affect your existing account and it doesn’t matter
who you bank with – payments will still go into your school bank
account.
In order to support social inclusion, ParentPay can link with the PayPoint
network. PayPoint is one of the UK's leading retail
networks for convenient local cash payment with over 19,800
retailers in the UK and Ireland - newsagents, convenience stores, supermarkets and garages – most
open long hours, seven days a week.
Parents without access to the internet or unable to use cards
for payments, can pay cash over the counter and still support a cashless
school with funds managed and banked centrally.
ParentPay allows the manual input of card details by School Administrators/Managers
so that parents can telephone or visit the school with their card if they do
not have access to the internet. Many schools make a computer available to
parents within the school to encourage them to make payments online.
Banking
Money collected using ParentPay is credited to the school’s bank account or
to multiple accounts. You can link different accounts for different services e.g.
a main school account, a private funds account and maybe a caterer’s bank account
for dinner money.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t operate your own school account. ParentPay can
direct income into a central local authority bank account and we
produce daily finance reports for them so they know what the
money is for.
Transaction Charges
As with any company or organisation that takes credit or debit cards, there
are transaction charges for accepting cards.
Based on our large volume of transactions, ParentPay has negotiated significantly
discounted rates through our financial services partners that are available to
all our customers.
