ParentPay announces Online Meal Booking and Classroom MealSelect™

13 Jan 2010

The new products will revolutionise healthy eating initiatives by placing school meals at the heart of a child’s day at school

Announced at BETT today by ParentPay, the extension to ParentPay Dinner Money™ will enable parents to book and choose meals online or let their children choose their meal in the classroom through an innovative new web application.

The new Online Meal Booking module will allow parents to book meals online for specific days and to select which meal their child would like. Replacing the onerous paper based systems still used in some authorities, the new system will be quicker and easier for parents and a massive time saving for caterers.

Classroom MealSelect™ will be used by teachers and pupils during morning registration, allowing children to select their meal choice through an interactive white board or any web enabled device, complementing and enhancing existing teaching and learning activities.

AVF Marketing and ParentPay announced a strategic partnership in October last year and Classroom MealSelect™ will be delivered with interactive content, video feeds and educational resources from the market leading www.MySchoolLunch.co.uk website.

The primary objective is to help children make informed choices and to understand where their food comes from and how it is prepared for school meals.

The solution will also help caterers increase uptake of both paid and free school meals and reduce waste in the kitchen by cooking and serving children their chosen meal.

ParentPay Chief Executive, Clint Wilson, said “Classroom MealSelect™ helps children make objective choices and will help them feel empowered to take responsibility for their own well being while adding a new fun activity to the school day.”
